It’s come to light in the past couple of months that Traffic Hoopla’s claim that their rankings are unbiased aren’t quite true.
Tim Linden was able to “game” their results a while back by adding more credits to the Hoopla account on StartXchange. Traffic Hoopla responded that Tim was “cheating” and promptly removed him from the top 10
Of course Traffic Hoopla denied that, so I did a test.. I added some credits to the account, and watched. Sure enough it boosted our rankings. So I mentioned it inside a thread on NMF, and since then am no longer listed by them (along with another exchange who also tested our hypothesis).
I have been questioning Hoopla’s results recently. AdTactics sends 5 times as many emails and generates 5 times as many clicks as a couple of newer lists on their Top 10 yet for some reason AdTactics continues to fall further down in the Top 10.
Hmm…. What’s the deal guys? What’s the Hoopla hidden agenda?
